A while back, I posted my first round of t-shirts for a special furry lady. She’d had a rough life, and was in need of protective covering for a patch of skin that can no longer grow fur.
It’s been my pleasure to be seamstress to such a loving pooch, who’s had a second chance at life thanks to an awesome human lady.
After my crazy winter of theatre work, it was great to pull out the bag of shirts and fabric, and the custom pattern I drafted for Minnie. These shirts are fun to put together from recycled clothing and smaller knit fabric pieces from my stash. I can get creative with colours and design. For the spring collection, I decided to go with pops of colour and hand lettered designs in gold for a classy and kitschy aesthetic. I haven’t done painted lettering in a while and forgot how much fun it can be to add unique graphics to my sewing projects. It’s definitely inspired me to get creative with it on my next makes for myself.
Without further ado – Minnie’s spring collection:
A hint of teal and a namesake design.
Love – a 1920s bottling company logo (and Minnie’s all about the love)
L’ananas – Pineapple realness.
Hopefully I will be doing another post in a few months for the Fall 2015 collection!
